Where are yammer files stored?

Yammer is rolling out changes to file storage for Yammer files in Microsoft 365 connected groups. Formerly, all Yammer files were stored in Yammer cloud storage. Once your organization gets these changes, all new Yammer files for connected groups will be stored in Share. Point, but will still accessed from within Yammer.

While we were writing we ran into the inquiry “Where are my Yammer files saved?”.

Yammer files are saved either in Yammer cloud storage, or for Microsoft 365 connected groups, some Yammer files are stored in Share, and point. Yammer files saved in Share. Point will be stored in Share. Point Online per your Share. Point Online data residency policy.

What happens to my Yammer files when I move to SharePoint?

Once your organization gets these changes, all new files uploaded through Yammer in Microsoft 365 connected Yammer groups will be stored in the group’s default Share. Point document library. These files can still be accessed from within Yammer.

What is a yammer root folder?

Users have reported that folders that they did not create are appearing in their Apple Mail account, these folders may be called “Yammer Root” or “ Files ”. These folders are created by Office 365 and are harmless.

Yammer Root Folders in Mac Outlook A few Office 365 Exchange Online users have noticed a new folder in their folder list called Yammer Root . This folder cannot be deleted and is related to new integration between Yammer and Office 365 Groups, which will be announced at Ignite later this month.

I’ve confirmed that Outlook Web App, Outlook Desktop apps, and the i. OS mail app do NOT show the ‘Yammer Root’ folder but, for whatever reason, the Apple Mail client on OS X does. I’ve reported the issue to Microsoft – I doubt they’ll have much to do or say about it since Apple Mail isn’t their product or [insert another BS excuse].

It’s not supposed to be visible to end users yet but is in most, if not all, Exchange Online mailboxes and can be seen if you look in the mailbox using MFCMAPI or Outlook, and spy. (There are actually 4 folders – Yammer Root plus 3 subfolders: Feeds, Inbound, Outbound.).

How do I remove my account from Yammer?

Contact any of the admins to remove your account from yammer. Please login with the other admin account in yammer Click on the Gear symbol at the top left, then click on Network admin Click on Remove user option, enter your name and select the option accordingly.
