Why yammer is used?

Without a doubt, Yammer is a great tool to use meant to break down silos and encourage employees to connect and engage with one another. It’s also a great place for employees, regardless of department or location, to connect on issues that affect their company globally.

Yammer provides a nice alternative for execs to connect and gather feedback in an informal way from employees. Human Resources might use Yammer for, say, benefits enrollment deadline messages or new hire announcements (the stuff that no one cares about when sent via email).

Unlike Email, One. Drive and Share. Point which are more of a necessity and a backbone of company collaboration, Yammer is another layer of communication that exists out there. Unlike email, it is less “formal,” and more social/modern communication vehicle. In my opinion, it might be a valuable tool for many, especially larger organizations.

Why use Yammer with Microsoft Office 365?

Since Yammer is integrated into the Office 365 product, it can be used seamlessly and in conjunction with the other applications, such as Teams. It is very important to consider and prepare for the future so that your company can predict and react to competition and market changes.

And that’s exactly what Yammer is for. While Microsoft keeps increasing the number of people who can be in a Teams team and visible on-screen at once in the same Teams meeting, ever bigger teams aren’t engaged in the close collaboration that Teams is designed for.

What is yammer native mode?

In Native Mode, all Yammer users are in Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), all groups are Microsoft 365 groups, and all files are stored in Share, and point online. A Yammer network must be in one of three modes: Native Mode for Microsoft 365. In this mode, the network only uses features that allow users, groups, and content to be compatible with and mapped to their counterparts in Azure AD and Microsoft 365.

In this mode, the network doesn’t meet one or more requirements. For example, the network might not enforce Microsoft 365 identity. All external networks and Yammer Basic networks are in this mode because they cannot connect to Microsoft 365 or Office 365.

The switch to Native Mode is either automated, with the Native Mode Alignment Tool, or engineer driven. The volume of information in Microsoft’s Yammer network is significantly higher than a majority of other customers. As such, CSEO worked with the Yammer engineering team to successfully migrate to Native Mode with minimal disruption.

Can I host an external group in my Yammer network?

As a result, Native Mode networks cannot host an external group. Users from Native Mode networks can, if allowed by your Yammer Security Settings, collaborate in external groups in other Yammer networks that are not in Native Mode. In addition, External Networks will continue to be supported for Native Mode Yammer networks in the US Geo.
