Currently, Yammer has two related features available for categorizing knowledge: topics and hashtags. Topics are a useful tool to organize, curate, and reference knowledge within and across communities. Anyone can affix a topic to a conversation by using the “Add Topics” option during or after posting.

The terminology used in Yammer is “Follow” rather than subscribe. 1) Click on a Topic tag in a post. 2) Click the Follow button on the upper right section of the active window. 3) Make sure you see the following floating message to confirm your action. What is the difference between Yammer topics and project cortex topics?
Topics will mean and refer to the same thing whether in Yammer, Project Cortex and elsewhere across Microsoft 365 Project Cortex topic cards will surface when hovering over topics within Yammer Project Cortex topic cards will include content from Yammer such as question and answers, and conversations.
How to leave a yammer group?
To leave a group :
Go to your home network. Click on the group that you want to leave (listed on left side of page). Go to top right corner of the home page of the group. You will see joined. Roll over your mouse to see option leave.
So, how do I name my Yammer groups?
Your company may have group naming conventions to follow. Look at other group names in your organization to see the names other people have used. If your organization has group naming policy, a prefix and or suffix will be added to the group name. If needed, a Yammer network admin can override the group naming policy.
If your group is a Microsoft 365 connected group, you can manage many aspects of your group through the Microsoft 365 admin center, in addition to managing them through Yammer as discussed above. All groups from Yammer networks that are in Native Mode will be manageable through these admin centers.
How to find the network and verified admins in Yammer?
A Yammer verified admin can give you group admin permissions to any group. To find verified admins: Select the Yammer Settings icon in the left pane of your Yammer home page.
