Using microsoft todo for gtd?

Microsoft To Do has become seriously useful for those following the GTD method. By using lists as projects and marking next actionsas ‘important’, there’s little separating it from the greatness of Things. Add great cross platform support and colored lists and you’ve got an almost perfect GTD app.

Another thing we wondered was; use microsoft todo with outlook?

My answer is Use Microsoft To Do for tasks and reminders in Outlook on the web. Choose the list you want to add the task. Select Add task. Type a name or description.

What is GTD and why should I use it?

In other words, is it actionable? If the answer is no, I basically decide if I want to trash it or file (reference) it. Let’s say I bought some tickets for the movies.

The term project is a bit ambiguous in GTD. It doesn’t mean it needs to be a formal project. It simply means something needs 2 actions or more. You don’t want to have big fuzzy projects in your system as a single task like “Finish new website”.

There is a huge GTD community out there. There are excellent guides out there but everyone needs to find a personal way of working and system. I decided to set up Getting Things Done (GTD) in Outlook and To-Do after some experimentation.

What do you like most about Ms Todo?

MS todo is simple, with a clean interface, easy to make new lists, and has just enough features to allow some creative GTD implementations. FInally it’s cross-platform. It’s a great tool. I actually wish i could use it bc it integrates so easily with outlook which i use for both work and personal email.

How to organize yourself using Microsoft Outlook?

Organize your Inbox with Archive, Sweep, and other tools in Outlook on the web. Use inbox rules in Outlook on the web. Use categories in Outlook on the web. Get help with Outlook on the web. Outlook help & training. Office for the web Quick Starts.

This of course begs the question “What is a good alternative to Microsoft Outlook?”

Thunderbird has a number of features that make it a suitable choice as an alternative to Outlook: Tabbed emails for managing multiple conversations. An address book that’s extremely easy to use and manage. Smart folders and filters for productive organization. Advanced search features to find the exact emails you need. PGP encryption to keep your emails safe and private. Built-in Lightning extension that grants calendar functionality.

There are loads of templates to choose from. Whatever kind of document you’re creating, Microsoft Office has a template for it. There’s a wider range of apps on microsoft office, you don’t need to rely on an internet connection, and microsoft office lets you edit more files types are a couple extra things to examine.
