Can a jira project have multiple boards?

There are two types of boards in Jira Software: You can use a board that someone else has created, or create your own — you can create as many boards as you like. A project can have multiple boards, and a combination of Scrum boards and Kanban boards, if you choose.

Jira Software Cloud users would like the ability to create multiple boards for each team-managed (formerly next-gen) project, just as they can with company-managed (formerly Classic) projects.

In the short-term, when you need to have multiple boards in a single project, we recommend teams to use company-managed projects. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause you.

What are the different configuration options for Project boards?

Configuration options are different depending on the project type you use. For Software project types, you can have multiple boards and anyone can set up a board. See Configuring a board. For Service project types, there are no boards. Work is managed through queues. See Setting up queues for your team.

What is a cross-project board in Jira?

A cross-project board is not specific to a single software project. That is, the board’s filter may include a non-Jira Software project, or it may include multiple projects.

A board displays issues from one or more projects, giving you a flexible way of viewing, managing, and reporting on work in progress. There are three types of boards in Jira Software: Team-managed board: For teams who are new to agile. Get your team up-and-running with this simplified board.

What is a Jira scrum board?

The Jira scrum board is the tool that unites teams around a single goal and promotes iterative, incremental delivery. If scrum is the framework that guides teams and their roles, events, artifacts, and rules, then the Jira scrum board is the visual display of its progress during the development cycle.

What is reporting in Jira software?

Reporting is an activity that you will be doing throughout a project. Jira Software has a range of reports that you can use to show information about your project, versions, epics, sprints, and issues. Team-managed boards are just like company-managed Scrum and Kanban boards.

How to filter between two boards with different issues?

If you meant board and not project then find something that distinguishes the 2 apart. Add the field that distinguishes them to each filter and this would solve your problem. For example all issues of type bug should appear only on board 1. If this is the case, go to board settings and adjust the filter to include issuetype = bug.
