11-24-202010:10 PM Unfortunately Google have abandoned VR and mostly abandoned Google Earth (they only want the web browser version around, they don’t seem to like the desktop or VR versions).
One thing we’re disappointed with is was the lack of freedom of movement once you’re inside Street View. Unlike in Google Maps on a desktop computer-where you can essentially navigate around the location-each Street View point in Google Earth VR is static. You can activate it, have a look around and leave again, but you can’t move.

Can the Oculus Quest run Google Earth VR?
No, Quest (1 or 2) does not have enough processing power to run Google Earth VR standalone. It does run it well if you use Link and have a good gaming PC. 9 9900k, rtx3090, 32 Gb ram, 1tb ssd, 4tb hdd. Xi hero wifi mb, 750w psu, Q2 w/Air Link, Vive Pro.
Google Earth would be perfect for the Oculus Quest because there is no cables and you can walk around freely. I would love to see Google Earth in the Oculus Quest online store .
How long has Google Earth been running on smart phones?
Google Earth has been running on smart phones for at least the past 10 years.
The favorite answer was so even if the Quest 2 could run it (it could, at least at lower quality terrain detail, if Google put some effort into optimising), Google wouldn’t be interested in making a Quest version . They never even made a version for their own Daydream platform.
