How to get google meet on amazon fire?

Google Hangouts Meet is a video meeting app that has been available for tablets since 2018. However, if you tried downloading it to your Amazon Fire Tablet, you’d hit a stumbling block. That’s because this app is a part of Google’s package, which is unavailable on Amazon’s Appstore.

The only thing left is to download the Google Meet app to your Fire Tablet. Type “Hangouts Meet” in the search bar. Enter the app menu. Tap “Install.” Wait for the app to install. If you’ve done everything according to instructions, you’ll see the Hangouts Meet icon in your app menu.

My answer was there is some stuff on the web that show how to load Google App store on the Fire tablet and then use it to download the Google Meet App – but Amazon does not recommend that. Is there some experience on how that process works?

Do Amazon Fire tablets have Google Apps?

Amazon Fire Tablets restrict you to the Amazon Appstore, but runs on Fire OS, a custom version of Android. That means, that you can install the Play Store and gain access to millions of Android apps and games, including Google apps like Gmail, Chrome, Google Maps, and more.

It (like Amazon’s other Fire tablets) lacks any of the standard Google apps, like Google Maps, Google Photos, or Google Drive. What’s worse is that the built-in Amazon Appstore is a stand-in for Google’s Play Store, and most of the apps you know and love aren’t available.

The Amazon Fire Tablet runs on Fire OS, which is built right on top of Android. Even though Fire OS devices don’t support Google Play Store and its app natively, you can change that. Android devices come with the Google ecosystem pre-installed, while you have to go through some trouble to get it on a Fire Tablet.
