Windows 7 not only offers increased stability, better performance and a sharper appearance, it’s the first mainstream operating system that supports touch screens from the ground up. Rather than adding in touch software piece by piece, as was the case with Windows XP and earlier efforts, Windows 7 can operate as a touch system.
Windows 7 supports touch screens from its core, which means that even programs that were never designed to work with touch features will be compatible, assuming you’ve got the hardware., i, and phone.
When we were writing we ran into the question “Do I have to enable touch screen in Windows 7?”.
In Windows 7 you do not have to enable any of the settings for the touch screen. If all the drivers and applications are installed from the monitor manufacturer, it should work. However, I would suggest you to make a note of the error code for the unknown device T230H and post it back.
Windows 7 still supports touch functionality, but you may want to get in touch with Asus about driver support. As long as the manufacturer has Windows 7 drivers available for all the core components, I can’t see where there would be any problems.

Yes, we are still running windows XP (plan on making the upgrade soon) but before that, I need a touchscreen monitor that will work with XP. Everything I’ve been reading says that Win7 comes with touchscreen drivers (generic) out of the box, but that with XP most touchscreens will not work.
What is the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 7 touchscreens?
The primary difference I’ve run into is that in the higher versions of Win7 they added the multi touch support and a lot of the touchscreens we were seeing had different lines in their specs for their compatibility with that, but worked fine for mouse replacement with either.
Will Windows 7 drivers work on a Windows 8 laptop?
Sometimes the Windows 8 drivers will work under 7 just fine, though. Windows 7 still supports touch functionality, but you may want to get in touch with Asus about driver support. As long as the manufacturer has Windows 7 drivers available for all the core components, I can’t see where there would be any problems.
