According to Microsoft Teams, the recordings done through Channels are handled by Share, and point. All participants of the said channel can view and share the recording, even with non-meeting participants. For all other meeting recordings — from non-Channels; from private chats — Microsoft Teams turns to One. Drive for storage solutions.
This of course begs the question “Where do Microsoft Teams recordings get stored?”
As of Q1 of 2021, all-new Microsoft Teams meeting recordings are saved to One. Drive for Business and Share, and point. Channel recordings are stored in Share. Point, while non-channel meetings are stored in One, and drive.
Retrieving a recording from Streams is a bit difficult because of how the data is organized. The UI isn’t built around Microsoft Teams since Streams is a stand-alone service in its own right. Before you proceed, make sure you know which team and which channel the recording was under, and what date it was made on.

You could be thinking “Why can’t I get a transcript of my Microsoft Teams meeting?”

If admins have disabled transcription capability for the meeting organizer and the recording initiator, the recording initiator will not get a choice to transcribe the meeting recordings.
The recording will be processed (which could take a while) and saved to Microsoft Stream, and then it will be ready to play. The person who started the recording will receive an email from Microsoft Stream when the recording is available. The recording will also show up in the meeting chat—or in the channel, if you’re meeting in a channel.
