Does google drive and google photos sync?

If you do see this, you used to sync photos and videos from Google Drive to Google Photos. Starting July 10, 2019, Drive and Photos will no longer sync with each other. After these changes go into effect, any changes you make in Drive will only apply to Drive. Any changes you make in Photos will only apply to Photos.

You could be wondering “Does google drive include google photos?”

Currently, Google Drive and Google Photos are linked together. From within Google Drive, you can select a “Google Photos” folder to browse all your photos and videos. The Google Backup and Sync tool for Windows and Mac can sync these photos to your computer, just as it can sync your other Google Drive files.

Your photos and videos are stored using your Google Account’s storage space. Items copied from Google Drive to Google Photos are backed up based on your upload size. If you copy an item from Google Drive to Google Photos, the new copy in Google Photos will also count against your storage.

In the past when google photos and google drive were “the same” I used Microsoft Flow tool and actually backed my photos to Onedrive and then with Flow synced it to Google Drive -> Photos. That however is not possible anymore and Microsoft Flow doesnt support Google Photos, only Drive.
