Windows 10 S is a stripped down version of Windows 10. This is the pain point of Windows 10 S – you cannot install desktop programs unless they are converted to universal apps and made available at Battery Life. A couple additional items to pay attention too are: browser & search engine – bing on the edge, and hardware and drivers – 10 s can handle.

When it came out, a Microsoft employee called it “the last version of Windows.” This doesn’t mean that Microsoft will be getting rid of the OS, but that Windows will operate more as a service, with continuous updates instead of one huge upgrade.

Windows 10 S Mode is a specific version of Windows Pro or Home. It greatly restricts security and other settings, which has the benefit of speeding up performance. If you buy one of the Windows 10 versions with S Mode, you may get an unpleasant surprise when you try to install programs or browse online.
Is Windows 10 s better than Windows 10?
Microsoft also promises Windows 10 S will deliver significantly better battery life than Windows 10. In fact Microsoft claims its first Windows 10 S computer, the ‘Surface Laptop’, will last up to 14.5 hours on a single charge, and that machine packs a 13.5-inch 1080p touchscreen display. The key factor is whether this stacks up in real world use.
So, which Windows 10 is best?
The company says “this Google built product brings the best of Google Play while Google Play Games for Windows is coming to both Windows 11 and Windows 10. More details should be available.
Uninstall unnecessary software. Limit the programs at startup. Add more RAM to your PC. Check for spyware and viruses. Use Disk Cleanup and defragmentation. Consider a startup SSD. Take a look at your web browser .
Can my computer run Windows 10s?
This is short and sweet: if your computer can run Windows 10, it can run Windows 10S. Microsoft also claims Windows 10 S will work with most third party peripherals as it has access to the Windows 10 driver database.
