Both Office 2019 and Microsoft/Office 365 for Mac will work with Big Sur. Just upgrade to Big Sur and Office should keep on working normally. We suggest updating Office (Help | Check for Updates in any Office program) before updating to Big Sur.
One way to think about this is i backed up my computer and downloaded and installed Big Sur. Microsoft Office is running just fine. It works well. But it looks a little bit different on the theme. I only use Excel and occasionally Word and have no problems yet. I just downloaded Big Sur and my Office programs (word/excel) are totally grayed out, as in gone . I have a product key for my Office 2016 Suite and it doesn’t work, I think because it’s too old?
