Why does webex keep using my microphone?

Your Webex Meetings desktop app uses your computer’s microphone to detect nearby video devices. You can easily turn off this automatic detection setting, which will prevent your microphone from being always on for the desktop app.

Why does WebEx keep re-muting itself?

If the system mic is muted, and you try to unmute Web. Ex, it just keeps re-muting itself, whether or not you have “Sync mute button status on microphone device” enabled or disabled. In my opinion, if you unmute Web. Ex, it should stay unmuted, regardless of what I am doing with my system mic or mic levels. Currently this is broken.
