If your device is offline, click Get Verification Code.
Then on your iphone/ipad go to Settings > Accounts & Passwords >under ‘account’ click i. Cloud >select your i. Cloud account (usually your name at the top of screen)> Password & Security > and finally select Get Verification Code. The verification code will now show up on your iphone/ipad.

If your password is Apple! And your verification code is 123456, type Apple! 123456 in the password field. Your password followed by the verification code. There is no PLACE to type password or verification code. Tried that several times, it isn’t working. We are beyond frustrated. I have to same problem.
