When I use the Sky Q box the Sky Soundbox automatically selects HDMI for audio out this doesn’t affect the Sound Out options on my LG tv. External devices are Fire. Tv Stick 4K and PS4 did have the bog standard Apple TV but since breaking my HDMI 3 port.

Mck I also use the Sky Soundbox with my Sky Q system. If you have the optical cable connected to your Sky Soundbox and TV your external devices should play through the Sky Soundbox via optical. On my Lg TV my Sound Out is Internal Tv Speaker+Optical I have no need to change this setting.
