The image quality will be dependent on your specified slideshow height in the sidebar menu. That is, if the image is less than the entered height, it’ll get stretched-out & pixelated.
Why are my images in Google Slides pixelated?
When I added images that were larger (dimensions-wise) than the slide size, Google Slides scaled the image to fit on the slide and downsampled the image accordingly. If I scaled the image to be larger (closer to its original size) and cropped it in Google Slides, then it came out pixelated.
If you must make things look good, crop your original image into four separate images (again, in a separate program), and align them within Google Slides to make them look like one image again. Your quality will be much better. Our automated system analyzes replies to choose the one that’s most likely to answer the question.
Why does Mmhmm make my slides look blurry?
Usually, this is fine—even if you’re not seeing a colleague’s talking head in the crispest resolution, you still get everything they’re saying. However, because mmhmm uses the presenter’s feed to transmit slide content, this bandwidth-saving blurriness tactic renders the slide unreadable.

You could be thinking “How do I set up Google Slides in portrait mode?”
You can set up Google Slides to present properly in Portrait mode by setting the right page dimensions. Here’s an example. Go go your Google Slides. Click File -> Page setup Select Custom, and enter an aspect ratio of 9:16 (Normal TV’s aspect ratio).
Google Slides DOES NOT allow both landscape and portrait slide layout in the same presentation. However, there are ways you can work around this problem. You can insert a rectangle in the master slide that plays the role of a verticle slide. This isn’t the most elegant method.
